Flights to Athens from USA,
Europe and Australia
There are direct flights to Athens

perhaps in Singapore, Malaysia or Thailand. Eleftherios Venizelos
International Airport in Spata is the main airport of Athens. It
is located 33km
southeast of Athens and is easily accessible via Attiki Odos, a

If you live in Europe, an
alternative to travel to Greece is to drive. The shortest ferry
trip is from Brindisi. A slow ferry will take about 15 hours to
Patras and 8 hours to Corfu. There are also ferries from Bari
which take a little longer. The Ancona ferries take about 22 hours
to Patras. There are ferries from Venice and Trieste too and these
take about 36 hours. If you are taking a train it is easier to go
from Slovenia via Belgrade and Skopia to Athens.
Public Transport in Athens
Public transport to Athens is
provided by metro, railway and buses. If are only going to visit
the city centre, it is sometimes quicker to walk to take a taxi.
When to Come to Athens, Greece
The best time to visit Athens is in
Spring and Autumn. Avoid July and August, it can be very hot.
