This is Newsletter Number 6.
Summer has arrived and its time for us to find a cheap flight
so we can enjoy the lovely sun after a dreary winter. This
newsletter also includes tips on dvd regions.
What is DVD?
DVD stands for Digital
Versatile Disc. A Dvd is an optical disc storage media format
that can be used for data storage including movies with high
video and sound quality. DVDs resemble compact discs as their
diameter is the same or occasionally 80 mm in diameter, but they
are encoded in a different format and at a much higher density.
DVD Regions
A
common question asked is what is a DVD
Region? A Dvd region
specifies which regions in the world the
dvds can be played.
DVD Region 0 means it can play in all
regions.
Region 1 is United States and Canada.
Region 2 is
Europe including UK and Ireland.
Region 3 is South East Asia,
Hong Kong, Taiwan, South Korea.
Region 4 is Australia, Mexico,
South America.
Region 5 is Russia. Region 6 is China.
If you
have a multi-region dvd player you can play all regions.
