In January
2006 at MacWorld, Steve Jobs
announced new iMacs with
cameras built in,
new laptops
called Mac Book Pro with Intel processors and many great products such as
Aperture.
Jobs, the
Chief Executive of Apple Computer unveiled the first computers
powered by Intel. Apple's new computers use Intel's new Core
Duo processor which have two computing engines on a single
microprocessor and are up to five times faster than machines
they replace. The Big News is the move to switch from PPC
chip to Mac OS X with Intel processors has commenced and the
specs look exciting.
In June 2005,
Jobs announced that Macs would switch to Intel processors in mid January 2006.
The first unveiling was six months ahead of schedule. Intel
Macs and Laptops using Intel's 'Core Duo' dual processor will
be up to two to three times faster than the older ones

Intel chips
will be inside a completely new laptop range. Gone is the
Powerbook, replaced by the Mac Pro Book which will run five
times faster than the old G4 range. Included in the
screen is inbuilt iSight camera, meaning that you can video
conference from just about anywhere.
The standard
15 inch screen Mac Book Pro prices start at about USA $1,999
and in Europe around 2,179 Euros (1.67 Ghz) and USA $2,499 and
in Europe 2,729 Euros. Like the new iMac, it comes with the
iLife Software package, including iPhoto, iMovie HD, IDVD,
Garage band and iWeb - built in. In particular, iPhoto has been vastly improved,
enabling you to 'subscribe' to photos
from iLife users. If you are a budding musician, you'll
be amazed by Garage Band, which is a practically a
professional audio product.

unveiled at Mac World, Aperture, a professional digital photo editing
camera package with professionals and amateurs will probably

At the Expo,
Jobs also announced a $49 Ipod remote control that serves as a
Fm radio receiver.
